Survive your shift in this visual novel

Closing at 2 is a free-to-play horror game that revolves around the act of mixing a number of drinks and serving them to customers at the Lakeside Inn. However, you’ll need to make sure to mix and shake the drinks to perfection, otherwise, some dire consequences can pop out at you.

Players who are familiar with the classic game Bartender: The Right Mix will have no trouble figuring out the game’s mechanics. Unlike the former, Closing at 2 also has a cheat sheet you can use to remember how to mix each drink. However, it’ll be made unavailable in the game’s last round.

Serve up drinks at the bar

The premise of Closing at 2 is pretty tame at first. The story begins with players welcoming three different bar regulars and serving them their respective drinks. As they return to the bar, though, you begin to notice something amiss. You’ll need to accommodate their special requests as you mix their drinks in order to keep them from attacking you.

With its use of 2D pixel graphics, this visual novel creates an even more haunting atmosphere that goes well with its eerie storyline progression. It also features a well-made soundtrack that fits each scene well and lends itself to the growing tension portrayed in the story. The addition of an interactive gameplay mode also adds a unique touch that keeps players engaged throughout the entirety of the game.

You’ll also only need to use your mouse and your spacebar as controls, so it’s easy enough to get used to. The game’s overall duration is quite short, as well, which can be ideal for players who prefer a simple experience that they can complete in one sitting. However, the game’s abrupt ending can feel quite inadequate and leaves many questions unanswered, as well.

Unusual yet intriguing

Although the game’s ending could have been fleshed out more thoroughly, this visual novel’s unique premise and intriguing blend of gameplay elements are enough to keep players reeled in for its short duration. The twists and turns you’ll come across in Closing at 2 are also major highlights that will keep players on their feet as they attempt to appease their customers and serve them their requested drinks.
